BARB received a request from police to conduct an immediate search of the local shoreline and dunes for a high risk missing person. Coastguard were also being contacted simultaneously. A crew page was put out and preparations for launch began.
A further page was received approximately 14 minutes later requesting the launch of two craft. As the crew were preparing the vessel for launch, it was clarified by another rescue team that BARB had been paged for an on-foot search rather than a water launch.
BARB were stood down by police shortly after, as the missing person had been located safe and well.
