A busy start to Bank Holiday Monday for several BARB volunteers who were called out to help a beach walker whose elderly dog had collapsed on Burnham beach near the low lighthouse.
After liaising with the Coastguard, a BARB 4×4 truck with two crew onboard was driven along the beach to meet the walker and her family, where Dexter, a 13 year-old labrador, was in a lot of pain after an accident.
The family was helped in moving Dexter into our truck for a short drive off the beach where he was taken away by the family to a vet for treatment. The family, who live locally, were very grateful for BARB’s help. We wish Dexter a speedy recovery.
