18 Jul #12 – MISSING PERSON – 04/06/2020
Our volunteers were called out last night at 10.33pm to join Police, Coastguards and Weston RNLI in an extensive search of the coastline for a missing person, a 73-year-old man from Highbridge.
Our team was tasked with searching the beach between Burnham and Brean Down using our hovercrafts and also assisting with a foot search of the area.
Our full team was deployed while abiding by social distancing guidelines.
After a thorough search in the darkness and rain, with no sign of the missing person, our team was stood down around 1am.
Our hovercrafts returned to Burnham beach to be recovered and washed down by our dedicated volunteers who headed home at 2.30am.
We were relieved this morning to receive an update from the Police that the missing person has been found safe and well.
