13 Jun #14 – LADY STUCK IN MUD – 31/05/2021
Our team was called out by Coastguards at 2.15pm today to Burnham beach where a lady was stuck knee-deep in mud near the Pavilion while reaching her dog. The RNLI Lifeguards had spotted the lady and alerted the passing Coastguard patrol vehicle to the lady’s plight and, as our BARB crew were already out training, we were asked to stand by to help. As the lady wasn’t too far off the hard sand, two Coastguard mud rescue technicians kitted up and pulled two stretchers out to her location and, after a brief chat to assess any medical problems, they helped her free and up the beach. A successful ending to the incident and the BARB crew was stood down with no further action needed. If you have an emergency at the beach, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguards.
