BARB’s volunteers were called to Weston beach on Monday by Coastguards amid concern for a dog walker and his pet. The dog had run off into the mud and had been struggling near the tideline at low tide. Our hovercraft travelled by road to Weston to assist Coastguards. Once the dog and owner were safely back on the hard sand, our crew was stood down and returned to Burnham. BARB’s volunteers are on call 24/7 to help Coastguards when needed.
