Our volunteers were called out by Coastguards this morning at 11.43am following concern for a woman stuck in mud on Brean Beach with the sea incoming around her. This was a highly time-critical incident and our team quickly took our hovercraft to the scene. Fortunately, the Burnham Coastguard team managed to perform a ‘snatch rescue’ to quickly and calmly rescue the lady as our team and the RNLI lifeboats stood by to help if needed.
This was a great example of multi-agency team working in a time-critical situation with a very positive outcome. We wish the lady a speedy recovery.
