Our crews were called to Brean beach at 7.39 pm by Coastguards after a car had become stranded in the sea by the incoming tide. The vehicle’s driver had been on a walk and was unaware that the sea would surround the vehicle.
The beach warden raised the alarm and crews from Burnham Coastguard Rescue Team and BARB were called to assist with scene safety and in towing the car up the beach to a safe place, once the tide had receded, for it to be taken away by a commercial recovery service shortly after 10:00 pm, thereby avoiding anyone putting themselves in danger.
The emotional driver was very grateful for our assistance, and thanked the teams.
