#33 – CHILD STUCK IN MUD – 30/12/2020

BARB was called out this morning by HM Coastguard after a child was reported to be stuck in knee-deep mud on Burnham beach near the Pavilion.

Our volunteers took one of our hovercrafts to the beach ready to launch if needed while a truck was also driven to the beach with safety equipment.

Fortunately, the girl was not stuck too far down the beach and the Burnham Coastguard Mud Rescue Team was able to walk to her with mud sleds and help her to safety.

The girl, who was unharmed, was met by her relieved parents who thanked the crews for their help.

Remember if you have concerns for someone or something along our coastline, don’t hesitate to dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
